The Fascinating Daily Life of Ancient India

Ancient India

Now that you have excavated the ancient city of Mohenjodaro, what two aspects of daily life did you enjoy learning about most?  Look at Chapter 14 and your reading notes.  Pick two artifacts that were fun to investigate and provide 2-3 reasons why you enjoyed learning about each.  A minimum of two paragraphs is required (one for each artifact) to receive homework credit.

Daily life in india was very fun because the women used to make there own stuff like necklesses. They found lots of little things like balles, cubes, statues, and other things. They most likely thought there were toys for the children. And there were some statue that was the king or belonged to the owners. There were also some artifacts that had little gods or something like pictures of someone and they said that, that protected them from there enemis or from evil. I really like the chapter because they told us about there lives and like how they lived, hoe they eat,how they showered, and how they got there food.We did learn alot from the book because of what I told you, back then.I enjoyed learning about how the women made there childrens toys and how they made there jewlery.

I had alot of fun learning about Mohenjodaro. The two topics i like and learned the most about was the Great Bath and The sewer systems. The Great Bath was amazing because back in early times it was hard to have such high advance of pipes and stuff. The pool was big and had house to change in. I thad pipes to take the water out or in. The sewer system was so cool.Supposably there was pipes connected to the ghouse and that wayer transfered out of the house or into the house. When the water would come they would put in some place were it wasn’t near and the water they got from the Indus river. These are the two toppics I had fun learning about.

Ancient India maybe one of favorite lessons so far.Ancient India has many cool things about itself.Like one is that they have have many vegetations going on.Another reason is because of the civilization of MOHENJODARO.Mohenjadaro would be a good place to live in because it has shelter, vegatations, and it has many cool hand made jewlerey. So that is why I love reading ancient India so far oh one last thing if I had to choose one place to live out of all India I would choose t live in the Eastern and Western Ghats because it has many animals.

I like the games because i thought back in the days they did not have games.I also like it because they were never bored.I thought that the back days were very boring and i learned that it wasn’t.

I also liked the homes.I thought they were really neat.I liked them because the were two stories high and i thought that they only had one.I learned that they had homes like we do now.

I enjoyed is the reading notes 14 me and three other people.
One of the artifacts that was fun for me was The Great Bath. It was fun because you got to jump on top of a desk to look for something. I also liked it because I learned something. The last reason I liked it is I got to draw a little bit.
The second fun artifact is the Seals. The Seals was fun because I got to tape stuff on the ground. I also learned that the Seals ment that the animal people saw. The last reason it was fun is I got to taok with my friend.

THE ONE I WILL MOST LIKELY PICK IS THE GREAT BATH BECUSE I ALWAYS WONDERED IF THEY DID HAVE POOLS IN ACIENT TIMES. I ALSO PICKED IT BECAUSE IT WAS VERY HARD TO MAKE POOLS BACK THEN.I PICKED IT BECOUSE IT IS VERY COOL TO FIND THAT THEY ACTUELLY HAD POOLS AND DRESSING ROOMS.

THE SECOND ARTIFACT I WILL CHOSE IS THE GAMES. I CHOSE THE GAMES BECAUSE ITS PRETTY COOL PLAYIN GAMES AND THE WAY THEY PLAYED THEM COMPARED TO THE WAY WE PLAY TODAY. I ALSO CHOSE IT BECAUSE IT IS VERY COOL THE WAY THEY HAD DIFFERENT MATERIALS THAN WE HAVE RIGHT NOW.

  9.   Marisella R. Says:

The first Mohenjodaro Artifact I found most interesting was the Great Bath. It was most interesting because It was HUGE and it had its own dressing rooms on the sides!!! They also did rituals and bathe.

The second artifact I found iteresting was the Seals. It was really awesome because they put the seals on thing they owned the show ownership. And they aslo wore them as charms to keep away evil.

  10.   Leslie Alvarado Says:

One of my faverite artifacts are the games. The reason why I like the games is becouse they made them. My other reason is becouse they created the game of chess. My last reason is that they created there own games.

My second faverite artifact is the statues and the beads. I like this artifact becouse it show there culture. My other reason is becouse it shows that they made it really nice things using there hands.

  11.   Jeremiah P. 5 Says:

One of the aspects I liked was the great bath.I like the great bath because you can relax and take a bath. What I don’t like is that other people bathe in there too. What if they are really dirty it will get on you. I liked this the most out of all of the aspects.

My second aspect is the sewer system.I like the river system because you can have clean water. Also so you don’t have to clean your own water. What I did not like about it is that someone can accidentaly fall in there. This is the second best aspect I think.

  12.   Nayeli Says:

I enjoyed learning about the Statue and beads. I enjoyed learning about them becuase the women liked to put neckless, braseless, earings, and rings. And people like us like to wear stuff like they did. They use to wear the things they did they also do the staues.Thats what I liked about the Statue and beads.

I enjoyed learning about the Sewer System. I enjoyed learning about that becuase it invalves a pool.I learn that they store water and filter homes. There was a well and they would store water including rainfall in the well.Thats why I enjoyed learning about the Sewer System.

  13.   Alvin Says:

The daily of ancient India is that they use weights and scales to weigh the grain for money and taxes. They used beads for necklesses and different kinds of jewerley. They had indian games for little kids.

  14.   Erika Says:

I liked learning about Mohenjodaro. I also liked learning about the seals. I though it was real intresting how scientis still haven’t figured out the great mystery of Mohenjodaro. The seals are intresting because people don’t know how they were used.

  15.   Regina p1 Says:

I liked learning about the Great Bath and games. One of the artifacts I liked investigating is the Great Bath. I t is very interesting how they build it. It has a dressing room and a drain. It was very impressing feature o Mohenjodaro to have a pool. It was very interesting place.

The other artifact that I liked investigating is the homes. The homes were two stories high and had flat roofs. Some homes had from one to a dozen rooms. It was very interesting how they lived.

  16.   edwin aguilar Says:

I liked that they had things like jewlery to keep away the evil. I also liked that they had a pool that was 39 feet long and 9 feet deep. Wat was also cool is that they had a drain to take al of the dirty water. The well was also really cool. some of them were wealhty and some werent.

  17.   Stephanie Paz Says:

My two favorite arifacts from India are the little pieces froma game and the seal. The little pieces of the games were for children to play with. The seal was a charm and it was used to keep evil away from you. Those 2 were the most interseting arifacts in the chapter for me!!!

  18.   Guadalupe Per#6 Says:

I enjoy reading about seals.I liked seeing the animal datial. There were animal such as buffalo, bulls, tigers, elephants, rhinoceroses, fish, and crocodiles. But there were some small detial and that cool for seals to have small details .I readed in the book that scientists think perhaps people wore them as charm to keep away evil.

The next thing I enjoyed read was about the homes. The houses roofs were flat and made out of mud bricks. The homes had from one to a dozen room.I readed in the book that poorer people lived in smaller houses, while richer citizens lived in the larrger ones. So thats all.

  19.   Max Says:

I liked the great bath because it was the most dramatic. The great bath was a pool built of waterproofed brick. It was 39 feet long and 8 feet deep. small dressing room where around the pool. One of the room had a well to supplly the pool. Dirty water was taken with a drain. Some of the archeologist think the great bath was used as religious rituals.
My second favorite is the game. I like it because they crafted it and it just lucks so real. Archeoligist have found dice, toys, and many more. The game of chess was probily invinted in india. A anctient book describes game fights with dice and pieces called pawns. i am thinking that the people of mohenjodaro enjoyed playing games.

  20.   Stephaniep#1 Says:

One of my favorite aspects was the seals the indians used them as charms to keep evil away. The small seals were the most mysterious of Mohenjodaro’s artifacts. My second aspect was the games. Indian children played with them to entertain themselves. The game chess was invented in india because a book descibes a game played with dice and pieces called pawns. Those were my two favorite aspects, seals and games they both were very interesting.

I enjoy learing about the jewerly that the women use to wear as earrings, bracelett or an neckalace. The one i enjoy learning is where they lived the richer people lived in the larger buildings and the less rich people lived in the normal sized buildings the richer people wanted to stay away from the poor people
