Learning About the Daily Life of Ancient Egyptians
Throughout the last few days, you learned about the different social classes of the Ancient Egyptians. Which social class did you find most interesting to learn about (other than your group’s social class)? Please choose a social class that your group did NOT study for the skits. Tell me three reasons why that social class was interesting. A five sentence paragraph is required for full credit.

The most interesting social class was thae government officiol.I thought it was interesting because the collected the taxes and led the armie.I also thought they were interesting because they were the secend highest important people.I also thought they were interesting because they were the ones who told the rest of the people what to do. Thats why I thought the government officiol were interesting
January 30th, 2008 at 8:15 pmI found most interesting in the social pryamaid was the Government officals. My first reason is they served the pharaoh and were in the highest class after him or her. Another reason was that they were trusted,also lived lives in luxury. My final reason is the Government officals got payed well and got fed in roasted duck, geese, pigions, quail, antelope ect. Goverment officals lives were very good they were next to the pharaoh, lived lives in luxury, and got payed well.
January 30th, 2008 at 8:30 pmWhat I found most interesting was the scribes. One reason that I foound them interesting was because they have to go to school for 12 years only. But those 12 years they have to learn the same thing over and over. It must be boring studing the same thing for 12 years.A nother thing that I found interseing was that they have to learn hieroglyphs . It means a symbol used in hueroglyphics, a system of writing developed in about 3000 B.C.E. That last thing that I found interesting that they start school at the age of five like us do. I hope I learn more about it some other day.

They were like slaves but slaves were still not there. They work for the parohs ands they never get money. when they get alot of food there reward is to get the lef overs. They will not get bord because they will sing. they also danced.
January 30th, 2008 at 8:31 pmThere was a lot of things I liked in this chapter, but the one I found most intresting was the peasants. The reason I chose this social class is because I found it interesting that they had to do everything and get so little pay. I also think it was unfair that they had to pay tax, and get beaten brutely if they missed one cent for there tax. Thats why I thought peasants we so interesting.
January 30th, 2008 at 8:44 pmI find that priests was the most intering thing I learned.They had alot of rule work. They preserved bodies from decay though embalming. The cool part was when they take out the body’s organs like the brain, lungs and liver.they use a hook and put it up though there nostrile and take out the brain like that.But they lift the heart they believed that the gods used the heat to judge a dead person’s soul.That was the one thing I found interings in chapter 9.
January 30th, 2008 at 8:48 pmWhat I like learning about was the scribes. I chose scribes because I learned alot about them. One of the things I learned was that if you do nit listen to the teacher you get beaten also were thought to carve on stone. school was only 12 years they started school at the age of 5 years old. only men could be scribes not a woman. To write they used broken pieces of potery and for paper they used pupyrus. Also the amazing thing is that theystudents needded to merize 700 hierolyphs. And that is all i learned about scribes

Though I thought that it was really unfair that they got more food just because they helped the pharaoh. It was really a bad diet that they thought was so good but right now we think it is bad eating. I think the fun they had was a bit less fun than the peasants fun, because the peasants didn’t have much money but they atleast had fun by having a good time during the break they had, their games were really amazing espacially the river game. this is what I thought about the government officials.
January 30th, 2008 at 9:16 pmmy fovorite social class was the priest.what i found interesting about the priest how when a person dies they take out the brain out the nose with a hook.the second thing they found interesting about the priest was how they thought if they left the heart in the his or her body they will live in the after life.the last thing i found interesting was the priest has to take a bath at least three times a day .that is it i am not sure about your opinion but i thought that was insane and pycho.
January 30th, 2008 at 9:17 pmThe most interesting thing that i learned was Peasants.I think it was very interesting because they had to work for the pharohs there jobs were to plant food for them.And if they had left over food they will get to eat that food.Thats some reasons i found out Peasants so interesting!!!!!!

Also because they were really rich and had tons of free time. They also got to have delicious food. It would probably be fun being a government official in ancient Egypt.

I would pick the government officials because the enjoyed life because they were rich. They also were at the top of the social pyramid. They had food like geese, antelope, chicken, water and more. I would also enjoy being able to see the pharaoh. This is why I would want to be a government official.

THE SECOND REASON IS THAT I WANT OT TRY TO EMBALM A PERSON WHEN THEY DIE.THE THIRD AND FINAL REASON IS THAT THEY GET TO TAKE OUT THE ORGANS LIKE THE BRAIN.LIVER,LUNGS.THEY TAKE OUT THE BRIAN WITH A HOOK THROW THE NOSTROLS.THATS ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THE PRIESTS.

I like the priest because they are like doctors and I want to be a doctor when I grow up. I also like them because they are very respective. Finnally I like them because they get to take out the organs. This is why I like Priest.
Well my favorite social class was Government Officials because they were the second high class.I liked them because there job was kind of easy.I also like them because they were very important.I like them because they have a lot of parties.Thats why i like the Government Officials.

January 30th, 2008 at 10:37 pmThe social class I chose for this was the goverment officials.I chose this group cause they are the highest class and they would die in a room full of gold.My other reason is that they rule the military and they don’t have to pay taxes.My final reason is because they eat yummy food like cucumbers,wine,beer,bread and lots more of food and also because there tombs were full of gold and lots and lots of jewerly.So thats the reason why I picked the goverment officials because they are strong.

January 30th, 2008 at 10:42 pmThe Ancient Egypt was really fun to do!The social class I would like to be in would be the scribes.I would pick the scribes because I would like to learn the heiroglyphics, write down the army’s battles,and write on papyrus like they did.Scribes for me are like writer workers because they do lots of writing.I sometimes wonder if they ever get a break? It is amazing for me that they get payed more for becoming a scribe.! It is weird that they started at the age of 5 to start schooling. If I was ever a scribe I would never beat up a kid at the school. Talk about punishment!!!
i choose the artistans because they will sculptures and did alot of work. and 4 me i would like 2 sculp & do alot of work for the pharaoh.

Another thing I thought was intresting about a priest is that they shave all of thier hair. The last thing I thought was intresting about a priest is they leave thier heart in the body because they thought the needed the body for after life. Thats what I thought was intresting.

I learned alot of things.
I liked the government official group. Because they make bouquets of their own. Also because they lead army’s that was from Egypt.It is also interesting because they don’t pay their taxes other people do it for them.They get to have fun when ever they want to.The group that we did not study are the scribes because they have a little school and allot of other stuff.I found allot of stuff in this chapter interesting i think the government official was nice!!!.
January 30th, 2008 at 11:30 pmI think that the scribes were the most interesting social class in Ancient Egypt because you had to go to a scribe school to become one and you had to learn over 700 hieroglyphs to become one also. It took you over four years to remember all of these hieroglyphs. Sometimes the classes took from the start of the day to the end of the day!Sometimes you got beaten in school by your teacher! You had to start at an age of five and go until you were 17 or until you were ready to do some real work, maybe even for the PHARAOH! And that is why I think that the scribes are the most interesting social class in Ancient Egypt!

The scribes had a lot of fun. Some of the scribes were teachers. The rest were the students. They got hit to listen. They had a lot of money cause they got paid really good. It is a really cool job.

The reason why I liked the priests was that they got to take out organs and I want to be a doctor and I found it intetresting. Another reason why I liked the priests was because they did`t have one job they had a lot of jobs like being in charge of many temples or like advising the pharoh. The last reason why I liked the priests was because they had this one statue called the sanctuary and only a priest who had purified could enter and see the statue. Well I told you why I liked the priests and I hope you like my reasons.
