World-Famous Museum Opening!
A world-famous museum is opening a new exhibit on early hominids. They need your expertise on the hominid groups you have studied to decide what kind of artifact to acquire for each hominid group. Use your knowledge of the five hominid groups to suggest an artifact for at least 3 groups. Make sure to explain why you chose each artifact. I am expecting a minimum of 6 sentences to receive credit for this assignment. I look forward to your comments. *Reminder…only put your first name and period # on your comments.

if i was building the museuum i would put a bone in the museum. Because, it’s a bone that belonged to a hominid. the next i would put in the museum is, a skeleton. i would put that beacause, it’s cool. last i would put a ribcage beacause, it’s awsome.
October 9th, 2007 at 3:22 pmThe artifacts I chose, was a bone, skull, and a piece of wood. I chose a bone because that would be something that you would find in the pass. I also chose a skull. I chose it cause if I went back where the hominids lived, I could possibly find one of there skulls cause they died there. Last but not least, I chose a piece of wood. I chose it because they made fire back then, to keep warm!
October 9th, 2007 at 5:45 pmWOW A MUSEUM ABOUT HOMINIDS HOW COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. THE TREE HOMINID GROUPS ARE AUSTRAOLOPITHECUS AFARENSIS,HOMO HABILIS,AND HOMO ERECTUS.I CHOOSE EACH ARTIFACT BECAUSE IT IS FUN TO LEARN ABOUT ALL OF THESE HOMINIDS.I STUDY ABOUT THESE BEACAUSE IT IS WONDURFUL TO LEARN ABOUT EARLY HOMONIDS. WHEN I WAS STUDIENG I NOTICED HOW WE BECAME TO BE DIFFRENT BY THE I SAW THAT WE ARE LESS HARRIER THEM THEM. HOMO ERECTUS WERE THE FIRST HOMINIDS TO DISCOVER AND USE FIRE FOR WARMTH AND COOKING. I CANT BELIVE I ACTULLAUY LEARNED ABOUT EARLY HOMONIDS IN 6 WEEKS.!!!!!!!!!

If you are interested in studying the Homo habilis you should start to look for artifacts like rock carved into a tool. Also you could look for a weapon made by them. Do you know why you should look for these? Certain things. Well if you don’t than that probably means that you don’t know that another term for Homo habilis is Handy Man. Meaning that they were the hominids to make tools or weapons.
If you are interested in learning about Homo erectus. Then you should start to look at or compare and contrast the bone structure of the Homo erectus to the bone structure of the Australopithecus aferensis. Both hominids stood on two feet but the Homo erectus stood upright.
If you are interested in the hominid Homo sapiens neanderthalensis. Then you should look for a larger head then the other hominids because they have bigger brains then the other hominids. And you should look for skillful tools.
October 9th, 2007 at 5:53 pmHello my name Johnny L.One way to remember a Homo Habilis is by finding something they used. For example you can put a tool they used to skin an animals skin in a Museum.Another way to remember a Homo Erectus is to find something they used for protection. For example you can put a spear in the Musuem so people can see what they used for protection. Finally a way to remember a Homo Sapien is to seewhat they were able to do.For example some Homo Sapiens were biped that means they were able to walk on two feet.
October 9th, 2007 at 6:09 pmThere are five different hominid groups. They are Australopithecus Afarensis, Homo Habilis, Homo Erectus, Homo Sapiens, and Homo Sapiens Sapiens. But in our class we have only learned about three of them. The first one that we have learned about was called Australopithecus Afarensis.I recommend their body leftovers that they have left behind as an artifact.I chose this because so they can learned how they looked like and find the similaraties and differences between us and them. The second one that we have learned about is called Homo Habilis. For these Homo Habilis I would say to look at the tools they left behindso they could find out with what they made the tools, when were the tools made, and maybe how they were made. The last hominid that we have learned about is called Homo Erectus. For an artifact that I would choose for that I would recommend close that they would wear in the past thats if they left any of it behind.I would choose that because that would help them to learn about what kind of animals they hunted and what kind of animals they use more for. After when I get taught about the other hominids I am sure that I will know more important information or items that they have left behind.
I LOVE LEARNING ABOUT HOMINIDS!!!!!!!!!!

October 9th, 2007 at 7:04 pmI would recommend to use the early groups of:Australopithecus
Afarensis,Homo Habilis, and Homo Erectus. One artifact that would be effective for Australopithecus Afarensis woulkd be Any type of leg bone. That would be because what is important about these type of people is that they were biped.Another artifact that would be good for us would be good for Homo Habilis would be the artifact of a certain type of tool that they think that was important to them. This would help because in this wayyou could explain the special help that they had.A very good artifact for
Homo Erectus would be the whole bone structure if they could.
This would help because the people would notice that it was easier for them to travel across, which was why they migrated
out of Africa.
Hi my name is Jorge in period 5.Did you now there are going to open a famous museum of hominids, and I get to pick three hominids groups. And one of them is Australopologist Afarensis.I chows this group of hoinids because it was interesting to learn about all there artifacts there were known by walking on two feet so they could have bones of there legs.An other group of hominids are the Anthropologist I chows this group because I think that it’s interisting that they were the first group of hominids alive,I think they should have cave paintings they found on walls inside of caves.Another group of hominids are the Homo erectus I chows this group because I think it’s interisting that there bones they could see that these hominids stood up straight. So they could put the straight bones they found of the hominids. And thats the three groups I picked.

October 9th, 2007 at 8:49 pmMy favorite early hominid is Australopithecus Afaransis because they look very different from us they are very farry and are called biped a two footed animal. A antropologist found a Australopithecus Afaransis he gave her a nickname called Lucy a short compared to human adout three feet tall. I also like Homo Habilis because they are like australopithecus afaransis but less harry which is good. The homo habilis also make tools they use the tools to take out skin, bones, and meat. Last but not least the Homo Erctus. I like the erectus because it is more advance because it has a larger brain so it can make better things like tool, clothes and houses. Did you know that there brain is so large that they made fire that is so cool.
For Australopithecus Afarensis there tools because it helped them hunt. There is also there feet because it helped them defend themselves when there hunting. For Homo Habilis there tools because it helped them skin the animal. There tools where more advanced then the hominids like Lucy.It also worked together. For Homo Erectus there tools where advanced than Homo Habilis there tools were even stronger. They also had clothes and had fire.

HOMO HABILIS
Homo habilis lived in Africa 2 million years ago. All of the Homo habilis worked together.
HOMO ERECTUS
Homo erectus were clothes and also work together they also walk on two feet.Day dont really kill zebras because they dont were there clothes.

October 9th, 2007 at 10:19 pmWE HAVE LEARNED ABOUT AUSTRALORITHECUS AFARENSIS,HOMO HABILIS,AND HOMO ERUCTUS.WHAT WAS COOL ABOUT AUSTRALORITHECUS AFARENSIS IS THAT THEY WALKED ON 2 FEET INCASE OF AN EMERGENCY.LAERNIG ABOUT HOMO HABILIS IS THAT THERE WHERE ALOT OF THINGS TO LERAN ONE THIG IS THAT THEY WRE NAKED AND THEY DIDNT KNOW HOW TO TALK I WONDER HOW THEY COMUNICATE WITH EACH OTHER.WE ALSO LEARNED ABOUT HOMO ERUCTUS WHAT WAS INTERESTING ABOUT HOMO ERUTUCS IS THAT THEY ACTUALLY WERED CLOTHES AND THEY MADE FIRE AND I THINK THEY ACTUALLY TALKED.
Australopithecus Aphaeresis – One of their artifacts they used were sharp rocks that they used to shed the skin from the animals. Another artifact they used was the zebra’s blood to make cave paintings.
Homo Erectus – One of their artifacts was sharpen tools from animals bones and teeth. They used it to cut their preys skin of carful without getting blood on them.
Homo habilis –One of there artifacts was clothing like skirts and blankets they sew them with rocks and sharp deer antlers.
October 9th, 2007 at 10:41 pmI am going to choose the homo sapiens, homo habilis, and the homo erectus. The reason why I pick the homo habilis is because of how they survived the weather without clothes.I find the homo sapiens intresting is because they had more advantages than the homo habilis. The homo erectus wore clothes in the future after the homo habilis.I would like to learn more things about these homo’s.These are just some of what I know about them ,I still have more things to talk about with you.
October 9th, 2007 at 10:42 pmWhat I would like to find from Australopithecus Afarensis is Lucie’s bones.Or to find another peice of Lucie’s body that they haven’t found. What I want to find from the cavemen called Handymen or Homo Habilis is to find the sharpening toolsthey would use to skin a zebra.Or what they put in traps to catch the animals.Iwould want to find the clthes of the Homo Erectus to see what kind of animal they hunted. These are the tools, and clothes I would wnt to find from each cavemen group.
October 9th, 2007 at 10:42 pmOut of five hominid groups,I only know three. The first is a Australopithcus afarensis. They were biped which means that they walked on two feet. Also I learned about habilis. This is what was Leaky named his/her discovery. The last but not least, homo erectus. This dicovery of homo erectus, were more evolved, less hair, and more smarter. That is most of what I know about cavemen,I hope to learn more.
October 9th, 2007 at 11:00 pmFor the Homo Habilis group I think the world famous museum should use a pointy rock for an artifact. I chose the pointy rock because Homo habilis were known as the handy man and they used the pointy rock as a tool to kill animals and for protection.
The artifact the museum can use for the Homo Erectus group is a rock tied on to a stick because Homo Erectus used it for killing and taking skin off animal skin.
Lastly, for the Homo Sapiens- Sapiens group I think the world famous museum should use an arrow for an artifact. I chose the arrow because Homo sapiens sapiens used it for throwing it in the air and killing animals.
October 9th, 2007 at 11:49 pmHomo habilis
October 10th, 2007 at 12:55 amHomo habilis left bones the bones were more like tools.they were discovered by Louis and & Mary Leakey.
Upright Man
When scientist assembled the bones they knew that they stood straight. They were discovered my Eugene Dubois.
Homo Sapiens Neanderthalensis
Homo Spiens Neanderthalensis had thick bones & a ridge above their eyes.Neanderthalensis lived after Upright Man,from 230,000 to 30,000 years ago.
I think they should use tools from the Homo Habilis group because it was useful and helpful by taking skin from zebras and it was one of the first tools. They should also use the fire that the Homo Erectus used because they were the first group to discover fire. Also they should use the spear from the Homo Sapiens Neanderthalensis because the spear was a new and useful way of use for hunting.I chose the Homo Habilis, Homo Erectus, and Homo Sapiens Neanderthalensis groups because they were very important groups that caused most of the Evolution. these are the groups and artifacts I chose. These tools and fire are the part of Evolution that helped us the most.
October 10th, 2007 at 7:24 pmDavid H.The tree groups im going to tell you about is Australopithecus afarensis,Homo erectus,Homo sapiens neanderthalensis. The fisrt hominid is the Astralopithecus afarensis because they had bigger brains than the fist hominid, and they lived in africa. There head was like an ovel shaped head and there jaw stuck out furthere tha ours, and they could walk on to feet, and they were able to use there hands. The second group i”m going o tell you about is the Homo erectus now they were more advanced the the other group because they made fire, clothes out of animal skin, and they had a smaller head, and now they could run away from danger an cach there food much easyer. They were taller and much thinner and there faces looked like a regular humans face but they were still hairy. The last group i am going to tell you about the Homo sapiens neanderthalensis now they are more advanced than the other hominids now they mad clothes out of leafes out of grass, and they made spears to cach fish and other animals. They also made traps to cach the animals by suprise and there intelligence were usefull to make tools and stuff to cach there food.
October 10th, 2007 at 11:02 pmI think that the museum will like to see a of the things that i will put in the museum. Right now we have only learned about 3 cavemen and they all live in africa. The Australopithecus Afarensis were the first cavemen to set on land they used wepons to kill animals. I thik that the people in the museum will like to see all of the pointy objects that they made.
The Homo Habilias alwys worked together so that they will get to kill the animal easier. They also did toolas and weponds to kill the animals. I think that they will like to know how they made there wepons. It is cool that they made it out of rock.
I think that this group was the most famous because they made bows by bones. I think that it was easier to hunt because they just aim and they will probobly hit the animal.
I think that all of these stuff will make people want to go to the museum because they will want to learn about the cavemen.I WAS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO LEARN ABOUT CAVEMEN!!!!
October 11th, 2007 at 7:20 pmI think they should use fire at the Homo Erectus part of they place because they made fire at first. That means they were smart the other cave man. That fire weed help them be warmer in winter and they could cook there food and kill some gems of that meat.
October 11th, 2007 at 9:13 pmFor Homo Habilis I think they should have tool and rock. I think they should have rock and tool because they were know as “handy mans”.They use the tools ot hunt animals and skining the animals.
Laslty Austrolopithecus Aferensis I wood put a bone of there legs. This is why I would put a leg bone it will be because they were a type of bipes.
This is what I would put on the musemen.
I want to put remains of the Homo Sapiens Neanderthalensis:Neanderthals with the tools and weapons they used.I think we should put a model of the Neanderthals hunting an animal. Then put another scene where they are buring a dead body to show that they cared for each other. There should be a display of animal skin to show what kind of animals they hunted. This group was also very wise and made more skiled tools and weapons to hunt safely. They lived from 230,000 to 30,000 years ago.they lived in Africa, the Near East,Europe, and parts of Asia.Neanderthal bones where found broken then healed again.Tjis meant that they cared for each other either if they where sick or injured.
October 11th, 2007 at 9:26 pmOne group was the Homo Erectus their main capilities was the fire, they used it to proctect themselves from wild animals. Also the fire kept them warm on cold days. For Australopithecus afarensis the main thing of them was that they could walk. The tools were very useful to the Australopithecus afarensis.Homo Habilis used tools to skin the animals.Another artifact was that they worked in groups.
October 11th, 2007 at 10:05 pmAustralopithecus Afarensis
I think the museun should have the bones of Lucy because Lucy was the first hominid to walk on two feet. They could put our biped bones.
Homo Habilis
Now for the Homo Habilis I think they should have tools. I think they should put tools becaues they were toolmakers. They were called handy mans.
Homo Erectus
October 12th, 2007 at 10:39 pmFor Homo Erectus I think the museun should put fire becaue they were the first hominids to make fire .I thiunk that import because the could be warmer in the winter.
Homo erectus- They where the third hominid discoverd. This group of hominid travled the most. They looked more like us than other hominids. Homo sapiens neanderthalensis- They learned how to make sharp tools to hunt. There ability hlped them to survive but they rather help each other. I want everybody to come to my musem.I REALLY LIKED EARLY HOMINIDS!!!!!!!!!
